About Society of Bluffton Artists
The Society of Bluffton Artists, commonly known as SOBA, operates a nonprofit gallery and art school on Church Street in Old Town Bluffton. The gallery showcases original work by local and regional artists in a range of media, including paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, and other handmade pieces. For shoppers, SOBA is especially useful when looking for locally created art or a Bluffton-area gift that is more personal than mass-produced décor. Exhibits rotate throughout the year, including featured-artist shows and special exhibitions, so the selection changes regularly and repeat visits can reveal entirely different work. Beyond retail gallery sales, the organization supports Bluffton’s arts community through classes, workshops, scholarships, youth outreach, artist receptions, and community events. That makes the gallery both a shopping destination and a cultural stop in Old Town. SOBA’s official site currently lists gallery hours from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Sunday. Visitors interested in a particular artist, medium, class, or exhibition should review the current schedule before visiting.
