01 · Historic district
The streetscape is part of the experience.
The Town says the historic district reflects architecture adapted to the Lowcountry climate, including porches, raised foundations and shaded lots on the high bluff above the May River.
Old Town is not a frozen museum. Historic buildings sit alongside galleries, restaurants, shops and homes.
02 · Landmark stops
A few places help explain the town’s history.
The Church of the Cross stands near the river end of Calhoun Street. Heyward House provides another tangible connection to antebellum Bluffton and local walking-tour resources.
